The Social Enterprise Society of Kenya (SESOK) is a registered society in Kenya which was founded in January 2017 and is Kenya’s umbrella body for social enterprises in all sectors of the economy. We aim to expand our membership and influence throughout the East African region and possibly beyond. A social enterprise is an organization or business which uses commercial strategies for the benefit of society or the environment while making a profit. Our aim is to bring social enterprises in the limelight and make them visible and relevant in today’s economy. In the past and still today, traditional businesses have existed and made profits along the way but have neglected to pay attention to the social and environmental impacts of their activities.

It is licensed as a commercial bank, by the Central Bank of Kenya, the central bank and national banking regulator.In 2010 the entity introduced Agency banking model which has proved a success and still regulated by Central Bank of Kenya Prudential guidelines.
Adansonia is an acceleration program that trains entrepreneurs, gives them a certificate and enables them to apply for funding. The program is free and open to all entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in Africa. It is a collaboration between Bocconi University, one of the top business schools in Europe, and venture capitalists across the African continent.
World Vision International is an Evangelical Christian humanitarian aid, development, and advocacy organization. It prefers to present itself as interdenominational and employs also staff from non-evangelical Christian denominations. It was founded in 1950 by Robert Pierce as a service organization to meet the emergency needs of missionaries. Activities include: emergency relief, education, health care, economic development, and promotion of justice. The organization has consultative status with UNESCO and partnerships with UN agencies like UNICEF, WHO, UNHCR and ILO, and financial records reveal that it has funded evangelical activities all over the world.
E4impact is an initiative launched in 2010 by ALTIS – Graduate School of Business and Society of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with the objective of training impact entrepreneurs in the developing world in order to support the start-up and growth of their businesses. The work of the Foundation contributes to the accomplishment of many of the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Goals, including access to quality education, decent work, economic growth and poverty and hunger reduction.
